About My Irish & Lancashire Family

I became interested in my family tree in the early 1970's when a 2nd cousin of my mother asked about the family. He had started the ball rolling by getting a researcher to find his roots. A small family tree was sent to him and we also received a copy. This was the incentive for me to find out more as my mother's side of the family had not been done. I spent many hours in the local record offices going through original church registers to find baptisms and marriages and checking census returns. This was all before the online facilities we now have. I continued to add to the tree when time and family allowed and when I hit a brick wall in my research, I would try another line.
The wonderful facilities offered by the internet renewed my interest and I gained lots of information which I also checked, where possible with original records. I have been helped by a number of other family researchers and I in turn have helped others. There may be errors in my research and it is an ongoing project, which will be added to as more information is found.
I hope that my children and grandchildren will enjoy finding all their ancestors in this tree, even though I have still not found any famous people.
